havoc 2

Hosted by Breaking the Spine

I know, I know – you all are sick of hearing how much I like this author. Well too bad – She’s got a new Dred book on the way and I am beyond excited! It’s the second book in a spinoff series that is shaping up nicely – I loved the concept, the characters, and the action in the first book and I’d be willing to bet it’s going to be even more exciting in the second! If you haven’t read this author, I strongly recommend reading Grimspace – the book that started it all.

Forced deeper into a murderer’s psyche than ever before, will the Naturals be able to outsmart the enigmatic killer’s brutal mind games before this copycat twists them into his web for good?

Killer instinct 2

Hosted by Breaking the Spine

The Naturals landed the number one spot in my Top YA books of 2013 and I am positively thrilled that the series will continue this November! It was such a smart read – involving teenagers naturally gifted with different skills that make them ideal candidates for solving crime. Cassie, the main character, can accurately predict things about people just by analyzing their appearance and mannerisms. It was absorbing, intense, and entirely fascinating, and I imagine the second book will be just as amazing. You’d better believe I’m dropping everything to read Killer Instinct the day it comes out!

This is another release I think I would be extremely excited for… had I managed to read the first two in the series. The premise seems totally up my alley and I’ve even purchased a copy of the first two books in anticipation. Let’s hope I’m ready for the finale by the time it comes out in April!

Have you read this series? Is it worth bumping up in my TBR pile?

The citizens of White Rock live in fear of the Bomb’s Breath. Only Hope has figured out a way to go through it—and lived to tell the tale. But when a massive tremor rips across the earth, the Bomb’s Breath begins to lower over White Rock. It’s up to Hope and her friends Brock and Aaren to make the dangerous journey far from home across the bandit-ridden Forbidden Flats to the wilds of the Rocky Mountains and obtain the one thing that may be able to stop it—before the Bomb’s Breath sinks too far and destroys them all.  I thought the first book in this series (Sky Jumpers) was a fun story with great characters and a cool atmosphere. I’m predicting that Sky Jumpers: The Forbidden Flat will be even better than the first book because now that the world is established there is nothing left but to explore it!  I am super excited to see how the story continues and think Eddelman is a strong addition to the middle grade market.

I have a plethora of books I’m waiting on. The trouble is, all the ones I’ve not done a WoW post for don’t have covers, release dates, and/or titles as of yet, making difficult to feature them. So for the next foreseeable future, I’m going to be focusing on books that I think I would be waiting on if I’d actually made the time to start the series.

The Testing is a book I disregarded initially because I read one rather underwhelming review about it. Over the last couple of months, however, I have come across at least half a dozen rave reviews which definitely made me reconsider my decision not to read it. I do love books about competitions, so I think I actually might be giving the series a try sometime soon. I always love it when I start a series right before the final book is released – I really hate waiting!

What book are you waiting on? Is this a series you’d recommend I start reading?

While there are many authors that I love, there are few that I’m more passionate about than Glenda Larke. I’ve read everything she’s ever had published including a series I had to pay top dollar to have shipped over from Australia. Everything she writes is golden and I am STOKED that she has another series in the making (The Lascar’s Dagger being the first book). If you like high fantasies like Goodkind, Sanderson, and even Hobb, this author should definitely be added to your list!
