This picture is the perfect representation of the things I’m most passionate about – books and dragons! Part of why I love dragons so much is that they are the ultimate creatures of fantasy, and fantasy is where I escape reality and feel truly free. When I’m reading about dragons, I feel totally wrapped up in their world – so the dragon wrapping around the reader is especially symbolic. Anyway, I think this might be one of my most favorite pictures ever (special thanks to my bestie who found it for me), and I hope you all enjoy it! :-)

Meet Lem and Bartholomew (Bart for short)!

One of my newest pieces, this duo was just what I needed to add the edge back into my collection (I went on a fairy figuring buying splurge… long story). I love it because of the fine detail work, specifically in the dragon’s face. You see, I’m really picky when it comes to dust-collectors. They have to look somewhat lifelike or I pass them by. Usually, you have to pay top dollar for this type of quality, but I snagged it for a fairly reasonable price (which I can’t remember exactly, but it was well under $40). They fit right in to my aesthetic and are really attention-grabbers. They have also been known to startle unsuspecting visitors when they enter my library (including my poor mom). It’s good to keep people on their toes.

Meet Raistlin!

Officially in charge of watching over my books, this little guy was the first piece in what has now become a massive collection of dragon figurines (good thing I have lots of shelves to put them on). Even though he’s had to make room for many others, Raistlin is still my favorite (which I find ironic, as he was the least expensive of them all).
