As this has quickly become one of my new favorite teen series, I am very much looking forward to the release of Crimson Frost – and it’ll be just in time for Christmas. If you haven’t read them, check out my review of book #1 – they are a fantastic mix of the House of Night novels by P.C. and Kristen Cast and the Percy Jackson series by Rick Riordan. It sounds odd, but it made for an excellent story!

Considered by some to be the best urban fantasy series on the market, the Dresden files are always mentioned when I talk to people about the genre. I am shamefully going to admit that I haven’t read them yet… what can I say? Too many books, not enough time! Anyway, it’s been on my radar for years now, and I am looking forward to picking up “Storm Front” within the next couple of weeks. As for you avid Butcher fans out there, I hear the series is supposed to have around 23 “case” books, then an additional 3 for an “Apocalyptic” trilogy (sounds awesome!). So if you love him as much as everyone else seems to, there’s a lot more to look forward to!

As the start of a new series by Lackey and Mallory, “Crown of Vengeance” looks promising. Loosely, it’s the story of a warrior queen elf who becomes the first being to bond with a dragon. Apparently, it’s a spinoff story of something eluded to in the pair’s “Valedemar” series, but is still sustainable as a stand-alone. Because Lackey wrote one of my favorite dragon series of all-time (Dragon Jousters), I’ll definitely be putting this one in my TBR list!
