This week was supposed to be a “top ten popular authors I’ve never read” post. The trouble is, that list would’ve looked really similar to the upcoming “top ten books on my summer 2014 reading list” feature, and I really hate it when I’m redundant… or repetitive… or redundant. Anyway, here is my topic for the week with a slight twist:
Top Ten Series I’ve Been Meaning to Start!
- Dragonsong by Anne McCaffrey
- The Elvenbane by Andre Norton and Mercedes Lackey
- Halfway to the Grave by Jeanine Frost
- Spider’s Bite by Jennifer Estep
- Dragon’s Path by Daniel Abraham
- Vampirates by Justin Somper
- Stardoc by S.L. Viehl
- Cinder by Marissa Meyer
- Magician’s Apprentice by Trudi Canavan
- The Demon Awakens by R. A. Salvatore
Most of these books I have owned and wanted to read for 5+ years now, but have never quite gotten around to them. That’s mostly because at any given point I’m in the middle of like a thousand other series. Now that I’m finally catching up with most of them, I can start looking towards some of these awesome titles!
I would like to note that while most of these series are new to me, the authors are not.… I have read and loved most of them already.
What books are you eager to read?

I loved Halfway to the Grave. I really want to start Cinder & Spiders Bite sometime!!
Great list and I am, glad to hear I am not the only one that has put off books for 5 years + *tee hee*
Here is my Top Ten Tuesday list if you want to check it out!

You should know that Halfway to the Grave is on the list solely because you liked it and recommended it… :-) I am also glad to hear that I’m not the only one who procrastinates, either. There’s just too many dang good books to read!

Yay!! Happy to hear about Halfway to the grave *tee hee* I completely agree.. so many great books and only a limited amount of time to read!! Some of these books have been on my shelf for way too long *sigh*
I actually won the lastest Jennifer Estep book but then couldn’t claim it because it turned out to be a US only comp :(

Oh, bummer! That hurts my heart a little bit, although it is kind of cool that you want in the first place even though you didn’t get to claim it. I’ve read Estep’s Mythos Academy series and really liked it (for the most part), but I’ve heard the spider series is even better.

Yeah I know, sucks a little. See, this is the reason I should move to the USA ;) It was book 6 of the Mythos Academy series! Oh well. I agree, it is kinda scary how tastes are so similar. I totally voted for Shadow & Bone for your monthly read, it is actually on my BOTM poll for the month too!!!

I would have geeked out for a copy of the new mythos book… Have you read them yet? What what are your thoughts? You know it seems to me that most of the giveaways I want to enter are for residence anywhere other than the US, ha ha… figures.
Sweet! I hope Shadow and Bone wins :-) I think a lot of the people I talked to are leaning more towards the 100, though. But it’s still really early in the voting process so will see.

No I haven’t read The Mythos books yet, but I was going to make a plan and do a read-a-thon or something if I had received it! Maybe you could squeeze Shadow and Bone in somewhere anyway…

This is a really good list. I had Lackey on my TTT this week – I cannot believe I’ve never read anything by her!! I loved Dragonsong, personally – I bet you will as well!

I highly recommend Spider’s Bite. I am a huge fan of that series! I still remember the first chapter of the first book. It was a setting that I never expected and I just had no idea what was about to happen. I hope you get a chance to read it. It is one of my favorites actually.

I love The Lunar Chronicles series, so when you get time, that one is my recommendation!
