Title: Captive

Series: Blackcoat Rebellion #2
Genre: Teen Dystopian
Release Date: November 25, 2014
The Overview: For the past two months, Kitty Doe’s life has been a lie. Forced to impersonate the Prime Minister’s niece, her frustration grows as her trust in her fake fiancé cracks, her real boyfriend is forbidden and the Blackcoats keep her in the dark more than ever. But in the midst of discovering that her role in the Hart family may not be as coincidental as she thought, she’s accused of treason and is forced to face her greatest fear: Elsewhere. A prison where no one can escape.
As one shocking revelation leads to the next, Kitty learns the hard way that she can trust no one, not even the people she thought were on her side. With her back against the wall, Kitty wants to believe she’ll do whatever it takes to support the rebellion she believes in—but is she prepared to pay the ultimate price?

Despite some underwhelming (but totally justified) reviews I’ve read about Pawn on the blogosphere, I enjoyed the snot out of it. In fact, it was one of my favorite books read in 2013 and I even made a point of purchasing it in hardcover. I loved it because, even though the society’s setup wasn’t totally feasible, I loved the basic concept – especially the way it meshed meshed with a game of chess. I also really enjoyed the writing style and was absorbed from the first page. In any case, I will definitely be on the hunt for this come November!
What book are you waiting on?
Captive sounds really good, great pick.

It’s worth reading – especially if you have a free copy. :-) At least you won’t have to wait full year for the sequel like I did…

I was waiting for the cover of this! Last time I checked it didn’t have one, but love it! I really enjoyed Pawn (and I bought it in HB too, and I love what they done without it’s jacket) so can’t wait for this one! :)

Yeah, I hadn’t intended on doing my WoW post on this book, but think having the cover revealed was perfect. I am tickled that I’m not the only one who liked it enough to get the hardcover – and I know what you mean about under the jacket! Gorgeous. :-)

Oh! I actually haven’t read Pawn, so I just scanned the summary so I won’t get spoiled, but I seriously love the cover for this series! I love Aimee’s Goddess series, and I hope I get to read this one soon. Awesome pick!

I think I’d read the series based on this cover alone – it’s so intriguing! Luckily I have a pretty good idea of how much I will like it. I haven’t had the chance to pick up the goddess series yet, but I’m pleased to hear its worth readin!
