It’s once again time for my favorite feature: Tackling the TBR! There’s nothing I love more than picking out which books to read next, and this slightly organized method of reading has really amped my enjoyment to the next level. Bring on the mantras!
Read the best books first.
&
Life is too short to read books you’re not enjoying.
However you put together your TBR for the next month, the goal is to reduce the amount of obligation in reading and increase the fun.
Here’s a look at how the system works:
1. Identify the titles that take top priority in your TBR.
2. Combine them all in your own Tackling the TBR post.
3. Throughout the month pick from that pile as the mood strikes you.
Here’s what mine looks like:
September 2018 TBR Tackler Shelf:
- Diamond Fire by Ilona Andrews
- The Blade Itself by Joe Abercrombie
- Magic Triumphs by Ilona Andrews
- Bloody Rose by Nicholas Eames
- Dragonwatch #2 by Brandon Mull
- A Closed and Common Orbit by Becky Chambers
- Akata Witch by Nnedi Okorafor
- Fate’s Edge by Ilona Andrews
- Ghost Town by Rachel Caine
- Clean Sweep by Ilona Andrews
I seem to have taken an unplanned mental break from everything these last few weeks (sometimes those are good for you). I’d been sticking to a really strict reading schedule (because all of my library holds came in at once and I wanted to make sure I got to them all) and I think I caused myself a little burnout. As a result, this month I’m back to just listing out 10 priority titles, and I might actually be able to get to them all. I’m most excited for all things Ilona Andrews. :)
Have a great September!
Oooh, more Ilona Andrews. <3 Have a great month and good luck with your TBR!

Good luck with that :) A lot of books that you’re excited about is always handy for getting out of slumps!
There’s so much hype surrounding ‘Bloody Rose’. Hope it can live up to it, I will read it eventually^^

Thank you! lol I’m hoping they’ll help pull me back out.
I’m legit worried about Bloody Rose. I like the first one a lot, but I always have trouble getting into sequels if they follow different characters. I may stall on that one lol.

Ah, i know what you mean! It’s a reason why I drop some series. Not a fan of it either

Yeah, we’ll see how it goes lol. I’m hoping it will be an exception.

Good luck. I didn’t live fates edge, quite as much as Bayou Moon, but it’s definitely still worth reading, and steel’s edge (when you get to it)- I absolutely adored.

Thank you! ^_^ I have mixed feelings about Bayou Moon, so I’ll go into Fate’s Edge a little braced now (thank you!). I’m in it for the long haul though, so I’m stoked to get to the last book!!

Maybe you will like it more than I did then, because I preferred Bayou Moon to On the Edge I think.

I think even if I like it just as much I’ll be okay :) I think for me Bayou Moon was a little to drawn out and convoluted. But honestly I still really enjoyed it.
