Tackling the TBR [42]: February 2019

tackling the TBR

It’s once again time for my favorite feature: Tackling the TBR! There’s nothing I love more than picking out which books to read next, and this slightly organized method of reading has really amped my enjoyment to the next level. Bring on the mantras!

Read the best books first.
&
Life is too short to read books you’re not enjoying.

However you put together your TBR for the next month, the goal is to reduce the amount of obligation in reading and increase the fun.

Here’s a look at how the system works:

1. Identify the titles that take top priority in your TBR.
2. Combine them all in your own Tackling the TBR post.
3. Throughout the month pick from that pile as the mood strikes you.

Here’s what mine looks like:

February 2019 TBR Tackler Shelf:

“Better late than never” totally applies here, right? :) I’m back to reading like crazy and enjoying the book world immensely, but I’ve also been super busy between work and my personal life. Granted, I could prioritize things a little differently to get posts uploaded more often, but right now I’m still searching for a new balance. I have a game plan going forward to batch-review things on a specific day of the week so that I don’t have to conjure creative energy as often, so we’ll see how that goes. I’m still continuing with my goal to wrap up all of my open series before diving into new ones, and I’m getting quite close on a bunch of them. I do have a few new first in series (with only one book published so far) on my list to break things up a bit. I have a few titles I’m getting tired of dragging forward for each new TTTBR post, so my goal will be to finish out this short month with a clean slate (i.e. read all the titles… too ambitious, I know).

Have a great February!
